Uma holds both a Bachelor of Music (Performance: Classical Voice) and a Master of Music (Opera Performance) from The University of Melbourne. She is a coloratura soprano with a rich and unique tone that suits many different operatic roles.
As a current Developing Artist in Melbourne Opera’s Richard Divall program, Uma performed the beautiful Exsultate Jubilate and the fiery Der Hӧlle Rache at the annual Mozart by Moonlight concert in February 2026.
In October 2025 Uma made her debut for Melbourne Opera in the role of Despina in Così fan tutte.
Earlier that year she sang the role of First Sprite in Art Etc.’s production of Rusalka.
In Nightingale Opera’s 2024 production of Two Remain Uma performed the haunting role of Mariola in both Melbourne Australia and Cleveland Ohio.
As a Rising Artist with the Australian Contemporary Opera Company, Uma performed as Milly in Figatroll and Anna Gomez in Endure. She was involved in workshopping a new Australian opera by acclaimed First Nations composer William Barton.
In Victorian Opera’s 2022 production of The Selfish Giant Uma performed as Child 1.
She was previously a member of Opera Scholars Australia, and worked with Monstrous Theatre in developing a new opera, The Spare Room.
During the Master of Opera Performance at the Melbourne Conservatorium Uma performed the role of Tytania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She also performed the roles of Fairy 2 (Fairy Queen), Amy (Little Women) and Amore/Valetto (L’incoronazione di Poppea).
