crowns & coloratura: uma performs the Doll Song from the tales of hoffmann

heading to Berlin!

As much talent as we have here in Australia, it is true that to really make it in opera you need to go overseas. And what better place to go than Berlin, the world opera capital.

This year I am thrilled to have been offered the opportunity to study and perform The Queen of the Night role in Mozart’s Magic Flute at the Berlin Opera Academy’s Summer Program.  Over two months I will  learn with internationally acclaimed teachers in masterclasses, repertoire coaching, performance experience, audition preparation and German language study. And then I will perform in front of European audiences and casting agents. It's a great step forward for my career. But it is expensive, so I am seeking financial support to help me.

If you can, please donate to my Australian Cultural Fund project. Donations there are tax deductible and all contributions go directly to support the artist. My target is $5000, but any amount you can offer, no matter how small, will be gratefully received.

I am also staging a fundraising concert to help me with the range of costs including tuition, accommodation and living expenses while I am there. So, if you're in Melbourne, I would love to see you at Nightingale Gallery for my “Crowns and Coloratura” recital on May 9th. Check my upcoming performances page for further details.

I am so grateful to The Ian Potter Cultural Trust for providing me with a grant that will go toward tuition fees and flights.
